Purpose of Office:

The Office of the City Auditor coordinates and manages financial services within city government including: accounts payable, budget preparation, financial reporting, revenue forecasting, administration of the municipal insurance program, and establishing control systems to insure that all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. The City Auditor also serves as an ex-officio member of the Newburyport Board of Retirement.
