MCC EBILL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (faq)

Electronic Payments and Processing can only be used through the Payment and Processing Service offered through the City Website. Processing of Credit/Debit Card payments and electronic check payments are not available at this time on an over the counter basis in City Hall or at any City Department Locations.

If you need a registry release when paying Parking Tickets you will need to appear in Person at the City Clerks Office and pay the tickets and subsequently obtain the registry release document. Registry Releases cannot be generated from the online payments at this time. When paying in person in the City Clerks Office, forms of payment acceptable are in the form of checks and or cash only.

Your information is secure, and payments are executed in an "encrypted" fashion, so your credit card or checking account information is securely processed.

The City does not store your credit card or checking account information.

The non-refundable convenience fee when using an ACH transfer (electronic check) from your checking or savings account is calculated on a per transaction basis.
The non-refundable convenience fee when using credit cards varies based upon the payment amount. Once logged into eBill there is a payment calculator that can be used to display the non-refundable convenience fee for a specified dollar amount.

The charges will be clearly shown before you are asked to confirm your total payment.

These charges are NOT collected by the City of Newburyport; they are collected by the payment processor.

To make a payment(s), you will need:

1. For Parking Tickets: your name, or your registration #, or your Ticket #

2. Your credit card*, bank card or checking information information.

*Accepted Credit Cards include:American Express, Discover Card, and MasterCard.VISA will also be accepted in the future.Please check here later for updated information.
